I remember looking at the women who were attending their 50th reunion in 1956. I exclaimed, “Those women were born before 1900!” Well, when current students see us at our 65th reunion, they’ll exclaim, “They must be in their 80s!” Of course, when I was their age, I couldn’t imagine I’d still be alive at 85, much less walking 2 miles a day. I’m sure you far exceed my walks. I hope you’ll share some memories in the next Onyx.
Having come from a small town in Arkansas, I was unprepared for the social restrictions at Agnes Scott. Dan was in grad school but patiently went along with having to be chaperoned by an upperclassman. I couldn’t believe it when I heard that we had to wear a raincoat over our jeans if we were going to walk to Presser to work on scenery for the next Blackfriars production. I was so happy to be a Scottie that I accepted these strange rules. It will be fun to share our memories at the reunion.
Please save the date for a virtual Alumnae Weekend, June 3–6, 2021. More details to come in the new year.
