We are writing to you today with excitement, a bit of sadness and more than a little hope in our hearts as we get ready to plan our 15-year reunion. Agnes Scott has announced that due to the pandemic, we will likely not be able to reunite in person this upcoming year, so for now the Agnes Scott 2021 reunion will be entirely virtual. However, we are strong, confident, and resourceful and will rise to the occasion and exceed the expectations of the “challenges of our times.” We plan to make our 15th reunion year AMAZING regardless of the restrictions and limitations placed upon us by COVID-19.
The Office of Alumnae Relations is monitoring the pandemic closely, and our fingers are crossed that the situation will change and we will be able to gather on campus this spring. For now, the class officers and reunion planning committee are forging ahead with plans for virtual events leading up to and throughout the official Alumnae Weekend itself.
We will mostly be communicating via online channels, so keep in touch with us on Facebook at Agnes Scott College Class of 2006 and Agnes Scott College Vixens of 2006 and on Instagram @asc.vixens.2006. We are planning an exciting array of virtual-friendly activities, like a DJ dance party and the ever famous Black Cat TRIVIA! We hope you are as excited as we are to make this reunion year great. Here are a few events currently in the works:
February 2021 – Midwinter Virtual Happy Hour
A time to catch up virtually with Vixens far and near. BYO beverage of choice—bonus points if you drink it from your Vixens Nalgene!
June 3–6 2021 – Virtual Alumnae Weekend
Be sure to check back on our Facebook and Instagram pages for additional events as the year progresses, and please check in with us and let us know what you would like to see! If you’d like to help with the reunion planning or fundraising planning for the year, please contact our reunion chairs Courtney Ware (email@example.com) and Suzanne Gordan (firstname.lastname@example.org), or our fundraising chairs Liza Lucht Jones (email@example.com) and Ashley Tooley Happenny (firstname.lastname@example.org).
As always, we are ready to field any questions or concerns you may have. Although no one expected a year like 2020, we are confident our Vixen reunion, however it may look, will be the highlight of 2020–2021.
In solidarity and wearing our Vixen ears,
